The reviews did not lie. This place was the best BBQ I have ever had and I am from Texas. I had the pulled pork and it was tender and juicy with a wonderful smoke flavor. My husband had the brisket and he said it was tender and juicy with amazing flavor. The baked beans are soo good I could have made a meal out of them and the collard greens were fantastic. Love the atmosphere and the service. I highly recommend this place but be sure and get there early if you want a table. It fills up fast.

The best Mac and cheese I've ever had and the tater tots and brisket are the bomb. Plus awesome taste in music!

I was excited to try a place that advertises Smoked Meat Every Day, but I left very disappointed. Before the food even arrived, the staff was slightly obnoxious. The server told me I didn't need vinegar for my collard greens because they were cooked in it and that "they would be fine for me." They weren't. I got vinegar from another server, as the owner essentially snarled at me. The entire meal, except the fabulous macncheese, catered to an extremely sweet palate, with both tomato-based sauces having so much sugar in them that I had to try to cut it with the hot vinegar sauce. Even those collard greens were sweet! The meal came on a cute metal platter, with a waxed brown paper liner that completely dissolved about a quarter of the way through the meal and inserted itself into my pulled pork. The pork, by the way, had a good flavor on its own, but it was by no means pulled; it was a slab of pork. This pretty much sums it up for me: Fifteen dollars for a lunch and I drank out of a plastic solo cup. These folks seem to be a part of the new too-hip-to-give-a-damn group of restauranteurs.

Great atmosphere backed up by great smoked meats. In a town with several options of smoked meats, Feast is definitely a contender. You order and pay at the bar, using an iPad to complete the transaction. They will give you a number and bring the food out to you, beyond that you are on your own. I have had the opportunity to enjoy the pulled pork as well as the brisket and both were delicious. It seems that one of my tests of a great BBQ place is the quality of the baked beans. All I can say is delicious. My first time visiting Feast I didn't have the foresight to get the Mac-n-cheese, but rather the cole slaw. Like previous posts, the slaw isn't anything to write home about. However, the Mac-n-cheese, is delicious. As an appetizer I got the loaded tator tots, they were delicious as well, but were a bit on the salty side. Not sure if you can ask for a reduction in the sodium, but I would recommend trying (or drink plenty of water). They have a great beer selection made up if craft beers from around the region, a well stocked bar with quite a selection of bourbons, and a couple different types of frozen drinks as well. The first time Feast it was packed and we had to eat at the bar. Subsequently, I have been able to score a table. If you go when everyone else is going, expect to wait for a seat. Grab a seat and enjoy the great food this restaurant has to offer.

Yes. Fabulous barbecue. As a vegetarian, it is so hard to really truly be able to appreciate barbecue, because, well, barbecue is traditionally MEAT. But woah. Woah... The barbecued tofu is so amazing. I had the barbecue tofu loaded tater tots and honestly, I wanted to just eat that every day for the rest of my life. It is that good. Yes, the place is small, but we came on a Sunday night and it wasn't very crowded at all. It's a cool, casual atmosphere, a great place to go on a post-movie date or something. I recommend it to all of my vegetarian (and non-vegetarian for that matter) friends

So, first of all, this place is TINY. But, it harkens back to experiences with New York city style dining...a few community tables along with a bar sprinkled with 2 and 4 top tables. We got there early and the crowd was already getting thick. And as a side note, the decor is great. LOVE the dark, earthy wood and amber lighting with lots of windows for great natural light. Music was not over-bearing (are you listening Louisville restaurants..with your ear bleeding decibels at dinner hour). It was nice background to the hustle bustle of the restaurant and WAIT FOR IT....we could all hear each other talk. WHAT A NOVEL IDEA...going out to dinner for great food AND conversation. Thank you, Feast. Hopefully the "NULU" and Silver Dollar folks will get that memo. Uggh. Anyway...back to the review. Some folks were having a big birthday dinner with like 10 plus people. This place is too small for all that. But, we were able to carve a place out for 4...before the real dinner rush came barreling through. If you get there during a rush, you will have to wait....and elbow for a place to sit.,.but really, that's part of its straight forward simplicity. It is pretty straight-forward. Paper menus. Order at the bar. There was a food runner or two calling out names, as they delivered food to the table. We didn't have a problem with this. And no one was rude. The runner actually was very accommodating to us with our "first timer" questions, like..."where is the sauce? where are the napkins?" Our bill was not excruciatingly over-priced either. We spent like $30. The hubs got the veg tofu thing I got 2 tacos, we both ordered small adult spiked slushes. Now, on to the food. I had the 2 taco dinner with smoked pork and brisket, topped with shredded cabbage and cochita cheese, on double layer warm corn tortillas with lime wedges on the side. I opted out of the crema. $6.95. Total deal. These were stuffed full. And I was stuffed afterwards. Hubs had the tofu thing. Topped it will BBQ sauce. It looked lightly dusted with like a tempura batter or something. He liked it pretty well. I do wish they would offer something else more exciting for those that don't do meat...like a strong veggie plate. But...whatever. Our friends had the Presidential platter I believe. Can't review for 'em. They did order the fried pickles. Pretty delightful. The ranch had a kick of cayenne, I believe. Good stuff. We tried a coupld of the BBQ sauces (we had the house, I think, and the "spicy" which was not spicy for me at all). Good, but honestly a bit too sweet for me. A little dab on the taco was just enough. We got the bourbon slush (they offer small or large) and the strawberry basil slush...both smalls. The bourbon slush was delightful with a strong essence of spicy ginger. The strawberry slush was good but...in no way could we have had the "large" version of these. Way way too sweet. I do recommend it though. We were all too stuffed, at the time, to get dessert. All in all, we really loved the food. It is a sweet little place and we will def be back.

I only had an appetizer for dinner it was the loaded tots w/brisket. Awesome!! My only complaint is that there was not enough brisket on the dish but then again it is an appetizer. Their BBQ sauces were great. The vinegar based one was really good on the slaw. The brisket was tender and well flavored and not stringy. Would have been delicious even without BBQ sauce. Next time I am though I will have to try a sampler plate to see how the rest of their meats are.

Paid another visit to my local BBQ restaurant and again was very pleased when I left. The BBQ chicken just never disappoints and the different BBQ sauces are tasty. I lean toward the spicy side. We again had he whole dang bird, with two sides. Your never going to eat an entire dang bird in one meal but that makes for great leftovers. The sides aren't the reason that you go here, the mac & cheese is alright, the collard greens are much better. Now the thing that made this visit even better was the appetizer.....fried pickles. These were hands down the best that I've had in years. Cut thin and fried to the point of being firm with great seasoning, the amount of cilantro was perfect. Don't pass on the fried pickles and the entire meal was only $32. Don't consider the price has one meal, because we could eat on this for another two days.

We ordered a half pound of pulled pork, a quarter pound of brisket, a quarter rack of ribs, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese to split between two people for dinner. The total, along with an Ale-8, an egg nog slush, and a salted caramel banana pudding was just over $35. I was very impressed by the ribs, the brisket and pulled pork were mediocre, and the baked beans were tasty, too. The hot barbecue sauce was my favorite. The banana pudding was fantastic.

Really great decor, service. Sweet potato fries and vinegar slaw were great. Pulled pork tasted like it had been cooked in a crock pot.

Ive made two visits to Feast and I wont be making another. The BBQ is nothing to rave about. The meat is not particularly flavorful, they assume that the sauces will cover their lackluster efforts Really, no hint of smoke or rubs. Just blah meat. Most disappointing is the meager sizes. I ordered what the menu called 1/2 lb of pork and 1/4 lb of brisket. I wish I had snapped a photo of what they served me. I was with a date and had assumed that 3/4 of a lb of meat and sides would have been more than enough to share, but both of us were hungry. We are both fairly slender/average and not 300lb walmart scooter types. Feast was anything but. We ended up walking to NABC for another round of beers and an app. Owners should spend some time in TX and see what type of BBQ you can get for $30.

Thoroughly enjoyable meal in the growing New Albany food scene. Small dim room dim with vintage incandescent lights. Exposed brick and open original timber beams. Total pinterest-hipster vibe, but not excruciatingly so. Counter service, with servers calling out your name and bringing your orders to you at your table. At 7pm on a Friday night, we had a 10-minute wait at the counter, and perhaps just as long hovering around the dining room waiting for a table to open. By 8pm or so, the big dinner rush had subsided. Time your visit accordingly. Good fried onions and fried pickles (okay, okay, you could fry a shoe and it would be delicious, but these were particularly good). Huge racks of ribs. I ordered the BBQ Salad: greens, shredded pork, and sauce, all served separately so I could eat as I chose. Perfect for this girl: I don't always love my food touching and think that some places over-sauce their bbq pork - here, I was in control! Tasty BBQ sauce with the salad, and I subbed oil & vinegar for the menu dressing. Salad greens were very fresh. Great prices. I tried everything at the table - the only thing that didn't thrill me were the Tacos (American Style). I had cucumbers three ways: Cucumber Kolsch, Fried Pickles atop my BBQ Salad, and fresh pickles stolen from my dining companions' plates. :) Local and seasonal craft beers served in pint Mason jars, and an extensive list of local bourbons. I had a Flat12 Cucumber Kolsch that was summery and refreshing. +1 star just for the wash basin outside the bathroom for quick tidying. Didn't have to wait for other diners to finish their, um, business just so I could clean off my hands. Other BBQ joints, take note!

Counter service, but full on feast. The bbq is an obvious choice, but make sure you try the fried pickles, tater tots, and Mac and cheese. I'm not joking, I could go there for those three things alone!

Ahhh, the perks of a lunch date the day after July 4th. I wasn't expecting Feast to be as small as it was, but it was fine by me as it wasn't too crowded as most people were probably at home and/or on vacation. I've wanted to try this place for quite some time now and today was the perfect day to do so with some of my girlfriends from work. I had the BBQ salad (which came with fried pickles), and the other two ordered BBQ sandwiches. We were all quite pleased, ESPECIALLY with the fried pickles. I noticed someone else complain about them on here, but perhaps they've changed their recipe because the pickles were quite thick. I would venture to say they were the best fried pickles I've ever had. I also liked that this was counter service, so it feels a little faster and more casual than a sit-down restaurant. Literally, my only complaint is that there wasn't much lettuce to my salad. It arrived in a big aluminum pie dish looking thing with the sauce, dressing, and pork in small aluminum bowls...yet there was only enough lettuce to cover about half the dish. It was really good, though! I would definitely like to eat it again. Just wish there was more lettuce to it.

We ventured across the river to try a new restaurant but what we found was - dry food, limited drink/beverage selection, poor layout/flow and awful service! One particular host/server/bartender was incredibly rude. Once our food was finally ready he started yelling 'Houston!' - 'Houston!' and as he walked back behind the line he said 'Houston's not getting food!' All the patrons heard him. I squeezed through the tightly placed tables trying to get to the front counter and ask about our order. He abruptly replied, "Yeah, it's sitting here getting cold. I called out the name on the order and no body claimed it." I said, "Right - Kristin - not "Houston". He just said, "Oh" and handed me the tray of food. We will not go back to Feast BBQ.

Would have given it one star but the desserts are just so amazing. What ruined this place for me was the service. The two times I have been there I had the same guy. He was so rude to every customer I saw him interact with. He very obviously didn't want to be there.

Not my first visit. I love Feast. I love that it is in New Albany. I love the building. Oh the food...the PORK CAKES are from heaven. The dish is an appetizer, but really a full meal. Fried pork patties topped with cole slaw. Add the smokey baked beans for even more yumminess. If you haven't been, it us a must.

I didn't expect to find great barbeque in Indiana. Highly recommend the pulled pork and the brisket. Their original sauce was too sweet for my tastes, but the north carolina-style vinegar sauce was fantastic! Sides were great too. Get the collards

I normally don't venture across the river for dinner, however Feast may change that. Fest is delicious BBQ and craft cocktails and beer rolled into one place. The fried pickles were probably the best I've ever had. And that's not hyperbole. The loaded tots are nothing to sneeze at either. Let's take tots, which are already delicious in their own right, and then cover them in BBQ sauce, slaw, green onions, and pulled pork. Deliciousness. I went with a big group so I was able to try the brisket, pulled pork, and all the tacos. The brisket was my favorite followed by the pulled pork, and then the tacos. The only downside about Feast is that seating is very limited. But hey what good BBQ place doesn't have limited seating.

I almost wish smoking were allowed in restaurants as a nice ethereal dance of nicotine wisps would suit the exposed brick, dark gray paint, tall windows and heavy wood of Feast's interior quite well. Walk down the shotgun layout to the bar at the back and place your order for the most delicious BBQ I've ever had outside of Texas. The portions are massive. My lady and I wanted to try the ribs and figured a full rack was the way to go since it came with two sides as well. We took half a rack home. Seriously, there was so much sweet, tender meat falling off the bones that I think I may have gotten gout from this one meal. That's a compliment, BTW. So good. So, so good. The logistics of the place are a little wonky, as other reviewers have pointed out. You order at the bar and pay immediately, so if you want to order anything else, you pay a second bill. I can't imagine that the swipe fees help the company's bottom line. Also, the silverware, napkins, BBQ sauces (go for the Hot!) and take-home boxes are all beside the soft drink dispenser, near the rest rooms. Aside from having wait staff, I can't think of a better way to coordinate this for customers, but it led to a lot of searching around and up-and-down during the meal which is tough if you're seated near the bar. Seriously, though, excellent BBQ and a good drink selection make this a must-eat in the area.

Love this place! The pork cakes are a must try. Not sure how people can complain about it not being family friendly when the atmosphere is bourbon beer and BBQ...

Barbecue is a tough gig to play in this country. We love our burgers and pizza, but you don't see so many groupies touring the country and entering competitions for those items as you do barbecue. To top it off, there are regional specializations and as far as how the Louisville area - neither north nor south - fits into those expectations is definitely not clear to me. But I think Feast has nicely hit a chord by aiming for high quality slow-cooked meat that's otherwise pretty no-frills, and is serving it in an atmosphere that's a bit on the trendy side but entirely approachable to anyone in New Albany. We were pretty impressed with our first taste of Feast. The pulled pork and smoked brisket come undressed (you add sauce - hot or regular - and vinegar as you wish.) Meat comes in the quantity of your choice, from 1/4 pound to a pound or more. My collards were terrific. The slaw was very fresh. High quality pickles. Good mac & cheese. A good beer and wine selection. All at very reasonable prices. The space is a well-renovated bar. They took the rotting floor, treated the wood, and turned it into dining tables. They made the old brick building pretty much beautiful. For what it's worth, the iced tea didn't come sweet, the collards weren't overcooked, oversalted, and swimming in butter, and there is no smiling neon pig on the roof of the building. Not that I have a problem with that sort of place. But there is definitely room on the planet for a barbecue restaurant like this too. We'll be back.

Try the crispy pork balls, brisket, mac-n-cheese, fried tots w/beer cheese, tacos. Great homemade sauces too. Pass on the potato salad (not b/c it's not good, but make room for everything else). They also have a great beer list with lots of local brews, 3 Floyds, and good bourbon and mixed drinks.

Want some BBQ the food looked like it would be good got half a rib that was cold the greens was not good and the Mac& cheese had sour taste will not go again

I really enjoyed it here- the BBQ was pretty good (it seemed a tad dry and it would have been cool if there were a few more sauce selections) and the pickle chips were awesome! I will def go back here, it was very quick and the service was great. Even though you order your food at the register, they being it out to you and are quick to remove finished plates which is nice.

No wait service. Have to stand and hope to get a seat. Even at bar, they don't wait on you. You have to order at the counter. Too stressful for me. People were very nice. Fried chicken was great. Potato salad good but little salty. Creamy slaw salty but vinegar slaw isn't. Mac and cheese was good but dry. Ribs really good. Roll was stale. Pickles were good. Pork BBQ good.

I drove pretty far out of the way to visit Feast after hearing great things about their "amazing Barbecue". Unfortunately it wasn't worth the trip. The restaurant's concept is based on ordering and paying at the counter and is self-service from there on out. One of the biggest immediate downfalls to this is that there is no means for the restaurant to ensure that there are enough tables for the patrons who are ordering at the counter. Thus, we found ourselves searching the restaurant for a place to sit and then having to sit at a dirty unbussed table. It took an uncomfortable amount of time for the staff to realize that we were sitting at a table full of dirty dishes and then to come and clear them away. When we received our food it was very underwhelming. I had the chopped chicken with a "fancy" roll, mac and cheese, and tater tots. My boyfriend had a brisket sandwich and tater tots. We each tried a bite of the mac and cheese and were both disgusted by the overwhelmingly large amount of black pepper that had been used. It tasted as though someone had spilled a pepper shaker into the pan and the pepper absolutely overwhelmed and destroyed the dish and the pallet. After waiting at least 10 minutes at the table it became clear that the staff was not going to check in on us to see if we were enjoying our meal or needed service. I then took the mac and cheese to the counter and asked whether the amount of black pepper was intentional. I was very rudely advised that my "dislike" for the dish was simply "a personal preference". I was offered a substitution but was told not to order the baked beans or collard greens because they were"very spicy" which the employee told me meant that they were seasoned with straight black pepper. The employee pushed me to order potato salad which I agreed to try. Both my boyfriend and I tried the potato salad and neither of us could take more than one bite because it was sour, gritty, and extremely unpleasant. My chicken was also very dry but had a good smokey flavor. My boyfriend's brisket was flavorless but actually moist. The tater tots were clearly just frozen tots that were cooked and served. The "fancy" roll was nothing more than a GFS item that was thrown on the plate. Overall my take on Feast is that it is highly overrated with rude, pretentious owners. With so many great barbecue joints around this isn't one that is worth visiting.

Very good food. Love the very casual atmosphere. You order at the bar and find a seat. First come first serve. I had one of their slushies. If you like bourbon you will like the slushies. Woo hoo. The loaded tots and crispy pork cake was good! Be sure to order tots with brisket as I didn't realize they would come with out meat if you don't request it.

The food was merely okay. I felt a little robbed by the prices. I think I will stick to parking lot BBQ from now on.

The food was okay BBQ but there was little to no bark and the smoke flavor didn't really come through. I had the pulled pork. I might try something else though. The sauces weren't that great either. The appetizers were phenomenal though. The fried pickles were the same as the ones in my dreams and the pork patties were great (pulled pork cooked in a crab cake manner). The slaw wasn't that great. I would return just for appetizers. Beer selection is solid and the price is a little higher than I would expect for everything in general. Beer served in mason jars? A little too hipster for me too. The place is cramped but homely.

So here we go...First, really like the location. Pretty cool place. Just happen to be north of the river so we made the trek. Secondly...THIS IS NOT A KID FRIENDLY PLACE!!!!! Maybe if your kid is 10, but our daughter still needs a high chair and They Do Not Have One! Would have been nice to know before hand. While waiting for the guy to clean the table...His Words "We are a BAR that happens to serve really good BBQ." Not a sorry or anything, I get it...But dang I wish I knew that before hand...So we got it to go. Drove all the way home, got the TOFU. I kind of wanted it to be bad considering what we had to go through to get it. But it was really good. Really good. Next time and there will be a next time, we will go on a date night with no kids and eat their!

Wow. This is one of the best places I've been to in quite some time. The BBQ is outstanding. If you'd like to try a couple different kinds, you can't go wrong with the sliders. The tots were delicious but admittedly hard to screw up. The bar has an awesome Bourbon and beer selection with no Bud Light or Miller Barf on the list which is great. Also, I didn't count but I would guess there are 90+ different bourbons to try here. Atmosphere is fantastic and the overall feel is casual yet up to date. Great use of the square product while still hiding it in a wood frame. Very cool. Will return.

I heard the rave so I braved the trip across the bridge. The place is small and it was Friday, so understandably crowded. Rustic chic setting made me think it would be a cute date spot: mason jars chandelier, nicely stocked bar, hand-written menu on wall and pay with an iPad kind of place. There was no waiting room or waiting system it seemed. You could order your food to go; you go up to the bar to order regardless, or hang around for a lucky spot. We found one quickly for our little group of for. The pork cake was amazing! Crunchy bites of sweet and sour BBQ goodness. I tried my first fried pickles here and was quite satisfied. The cole slaw (I got the vinaigrette instead of creamy) was more sour than usual, which I loved because the pickles taste reminded me of Vietnamese food. The portions weren't huge. We had leftover because we ordered 2 appetizers between 4 people. None of us tried the bourbon but the strawberry basil drink was refreshingly good, with a hint of bourbon. My main dishes I'm not raving about because it's not the best I've had, but i have nothing to complain. It was good. I love the sauces. I tried some of the tofu and enjoyed the smokiness in the flavor.

I've been to Feast BBQ a couple of times in the past few weeks and could not recommend it more. The restored building with repurposed wood, exposed brick, and strung lights is worth the walk in. The food seals the deal. I have only had the pulled pork BBQ, but I'm sure everything else is great. The fried pickles are the best I've had.

My wife and I visited Feast last night on a dinner & movie date night. The food was outstanding in nearly every way. My wife had the pulled pork and I had the brisket. Both were tender, juicy, and delicious. The quantities were large but the price was not. This is very good BBQ and I plan to try the ribs and chicken next time. Based on what I've sampled I'd have to say that Feast ties for first place with B3Q in Georgetown, IN for the best BBQ in the Greater Louisville area. Where Feast has and advantage over everyone else is their sides. The baked beans with burnt ends had a perfect balance of seasoning and smokey flavor. I had the creamy slaw and my wife had the vinegar slaw and we each kept taking turns sampling off each other's plates. I also sampled the fried pickles that comes with a dip. You don't need the dip as the pickles work just fine without. On the other hand the dip is good enough that you may start looking for other food items to dip into it. The piece de resistance was dessert. They were serving a fried peach pie made with fresh peaches from the New Albany Farmers Market. This was topped with House Made Indiana Sorghum ice cream. The combination of fried crust, tart peaches, and sweet ice cream made for a very happy party for my taste buds. I could've eaten the fried dough crust by itself. In addition to the food the old building has a lot of charm. The bar is well stocked with excellent Bourbon and beer choices. They have other choices also, such as rye whiskeys and so on. It makes for a cool hangout even if you aren't eating. So, why am I only giving 4 stars instead of 5. Quite simply, their setup for ordering and service. When you come in you have to go up to the end of the bar to order. The place you order is near where orders come out so there is a bit of a traffic issue. Once you place your order they flip over a touch screen for you to enter your tip amount and sign digitally. That is a lot of fingers touching the same thing right after coming in and without a chance to wash hands. Hopefully the screen has some kind of antibiotic coating. Otherwise eww. After placing your order you search for a seat hoping that people didn't come in behind you and take any remaining seats. They call your name when the order is ready and then bring it to you. This part of the ordering process is OK. But,if you decide to order anything else, dessert for example, you have to get back up, go to the bar, weave between people coming in and orders coming out, place the order, give your credit card, and sign the touch screen again. Logistically this is a mess. But, let's back up a little. When your food comes out there are no utensils, napkins, or BBQ sauce. You have to go to another table to get these items. Furthermore, the utensils are stacked handle down meaning it is impossible to get a fork without touching the business end of all the other forks. Yuck. The table is also a regular sized table meaning you have to bend down to read some of the bottles and is low enough for kids to get at with their grubby little hands. Yuck. I mentioned that I really loved their food but hated their setup and was given the reply that it was "the first of its kind in the country." I'm thinking there is a reason for that. The food service industry has been around for centuries and through trial and error a number of models have prevailed with different levels of full and self service. Feast's setup is a serious detraction from what is otherwise a splendid addition to the Greater Louisville food scene. Fix that and they are as good as it gets.

First off, food was pretty good. Best fried pickles I have ever had. However, the service is absolutely terrible. You pay when you order, which isn't a problem. You are expected to tip at this time. What they do not tell you, is that your service ends there. I had ordered a beer with my meal, and after I finished it, stopped one of the staff to ask for a refill. He told me that I would need to get in the back of the line, which was 15 deep at this point, to get another beer. I certainly do not feel entitled to skip line, but after paying a $60 tab, along with a $20 tip, I wasn't exactly sure why a gratuity should he expected when I was expected to wait in line for another 15 min to get another beer. To top it off, when I finally got the beer, it was wrong. Rather than wait in line again, we just cut our losses and went home. Food was 4 star, but the service is non existent. Sorry to say, but we won't be back.

I only visited this establishment once and for good reason! I ordered the Chopped Chicken Salad. It was sitting in a pool of water. One other problem. It is merely a restaurant similar to a fast food joint, in which you order up front and cater to yourself once you are handed your food. You on your own whether you like to food or not. And don't try to tell them that you have a problem with the food. It will do you no good. But alas, you can always visit The NA Exchange. They are right next door and I have never had any problems or complaints.

Excellent food, and cool place! The BBQ and ribs are excellent, as are their sides, but be aware- this is long cook BBQ which takes a week to prepare and when they run out, they are out for the day. Hint: Check their Facebook for early warnings on closures. Go when you have time to wait for fantastic food - Well worth the effort!!

Considering that they are already doing more than twice as much business as they had projected for their first few weeks, and subsequently selling out of food before the week is over, a positive review for Feast BBQ probably isn't necessary. Keeping that in mind, I won't go into too much detail. The space is really nice, showing a lot of attention to detail in the design all around. The menu is traditional enough not to scare off barbecue die hards and has enough flourishes and little touches to keep fine dining fans happy as well. Bourbon and beer selections are awesome and the small selection of other spirits are of good quality and reasonable price. The tacos are killer. The fried pickles and onion straws are definitely not to be missed. The ribs and brisket are some of the best I've ever had, but the ribs might be a little too smokey for some. Actually, that's about the only real negative: while there is no smoking allowed inside the restaurant due to state law, it is pretty smokey inside and you will smell like a firepit until the next time you shower. Also, high levels of smoke compounds in and on food have recently been linked to cancer, so the burnt brisket ends in the baked beans may quite literally kill you. But so will just about everything else.

Other than being a bit cramped, this is a great BBQ joint. Plentiful servings, all delicious. BBQ rates as top three in metro Louisville. Smoky and flavorful. Plenty of top notch craft beers on tap, which got them an extra star from me. Making Feast a regular stop.

I gave Feast a 2 star rating overall, but mostly for the side dishes. I had the 2 meat combo... ribs and brisket. You get 3 ribs and about 6 oz of brisket. The ribs were tender, but a tiny bit dry. Flavor was good, the seasoning rub wasn't overpowering, but the smoke flavor was a bit pronounced for me. The ribs are served dry, and there are 3 varieties of sauce available... original, hot and NC vinegar style. I like the original.. it is not too sweet, nice molasses base. The hot is almost identical, not hot at all, but a bit more vinegary. The NC BBQ is spot on perfect.. and I should know, since I am from NC and love the vinegar based pork bbq there! The brisket was soft and moist, but fatty, almost as if it needed more cook time to render some of the fat out. It too was a bit too smoky flavored. Overall, the meats were acceptable and slightly above average. Now for the sides... My bun was still partially frozen in the center. There are two varieties of slaw: creamy and vinegar.... both are just cabbage, one with a bit of mayo and sugar, the other with a tad bit more vinegar and less mayo. Both are rather bland. I got baked beans with burnt ends. I did get one tiny piece of burnt end. The beans are very simple, they taste like the only seasoning is some of the original BBQ sauce is added during the cooking. They were ever so slightly crunchy. I also got the potato salad. It is a mayo base style, with no mustard. Also no onion or celery that I could detect. The potatoes were nice and soft, but it needed salt or something to kick up the flavor a bit. My wife got the macaroni and cheese. It is not at all bad, nice and cheesy and creamy. A bit sweet for my taste, but of all the sides, this was the best. We also got the fried pickle appetizer. VERY disappointed... these were very thinly sliced pickles, probably your basic restaurant supply burger pickle slices. They are thickly battered with a nicely seasoned, nicely crispy coating... But after they are fried enough to make that delicious coating, the pickle is pretty much just a memory...no pickle flavor at all is left. The pickles are served with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, and chopped cilantro too... If they used thicker pickle slices, these would be something to remember, not to avoid. It is sad... as a garnish on the bbq plate, there are two lovely thick slices of a Claussen style pickle. If they'd just make the fried pickles with thicker slices from THESE pickles, they would be the best I've had. Feast does have a nice selection of draft beers, but their prices are a bit of a mystery. The one I picked had two numbers beside it:: 5.5 and 22. There wasn't an explanation. Overall, I like the atmosphere and style of the place. You order at the bar and pay at that time, then your food is brought to you. That is the only time you will see a server at your table, however. Sodas and tea is self serve, as are napkins, silverware and BBQ sauce. Your food is served on a metal tray with a paper liner, sides are in aluminum disposable cups.... Kind of like a slightly high class down home BBQ joint. So, if they kick up their side dishes just a little bit, add a touch more service to the tables (like someone asking if everything was OK), and de-mystify their beer prices, I'd give this place a solid 4 stars. Worth a try, for sure! Worth a second try... maybe for a sandwich instead of a plate.

Flat out good feasting food. I ordered the pulled pork plate which came with a huge order of pulled pork, macaroni and cheese (AMAZING), and their creamy slaw (they also offer a vinegar based slaw), and a roll (the only food item I wouldn't even bother with - bland & dry = no flavor). And they have beer. ALL LOCAL beer! I ordered the New Albanian's Bonfire of the Valkyries which was a terrific complement to my meal. The meat comes without sauce but does have a seasoning already to it. They have an original and a hot. The hot is not much more than the original but seems to have a little jalapeño mixed in which gives it a little extra depth. I really wanted to eat a lot more food but I'm still full from eating everything I could get my hands on last week on vacation. I will definitely be back - I saw a man order the Indiana Chocolate and Walnut Mud Pie for his lunch. Of course I now think he is brilliant. The pie slice was HUGE! I will need to share with someone or do as he did and order it as my lunch entrée! They offer tofu for those that venture into a barbecue joint and don't eat meat. Just sayin'. I really want to try the brisket and the tacos so I know there will be a trip back to this establishment. Awesome how Louisville's red headed step sister has been kicking ass on the food and drink lately! You go New Albany - I 'm loving your fiery determination! (And who doesn't love a hot ginger anyway?!)

Three of us dined here while on a short visit to Louisville and it was worth the quick cab ride over and back. We sat at the bar and had an amazing meal. Both guys who were working were quite friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items and the great beers and whisky available. We tried everything we could including ribs, brisket, pulled pork, collards, mac n'cheese smoked tofu and quite a few beers. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone local or visiting town and look forward to coming back on our next visit.

My buddy and I came to Feast BBQ for luch on a recommendation. I must say it was very well recieved. I had the brisket, my buddy had pulled pork. Both were generous portions and cooked perfectly. Feast offers and array of sauces to choose from, I tried a bit of them all. They wore all good, but, the hot was the best. For sides: I had, baked beans and creamy cole slaw, my companion had tater tots and mac and cheese. We tried a bit of each others and were all around pleased. The food was pletiful and very tasty. This was my first visit but not my last. Definitely give them a shot. Plus, the location is cool too. P.S. One of the other patrons complained that the mac and cheese was cold. The woman working the dining roim remembered that my friend had gotten mac and cheese as well. She let him know, before he had eaten any, that they didn't feel it met thier standard. So, she brought him a fresh one. Kudos to the staff. Thanks.

Woah, this place is seriously on point with some real delicious barbecue and amazing, creative options. Atmosphere is rad and laid back and the bourbon slushies? Unbelievable!

Ok so I thought this place was amazballs! The bbq was sweet and the pulled pork was tender and juicy! The potato salad was creamy and delicious but had a few to many green onions on top for my taste. The mac n chess how ever was o die for! It came in its own little container and was warm and gooey on the inside with melted cheese and crunchy crumbles on top. Didn't have a chance to buy the drink this time but will just have to go back and try the bourbon and beer! The service was interesting. You placed your order at the bar and got yourself all the side continents you needed and your own soft drink. The food was delivered to the table and we were checked on a couple times by the bartenders. To make sure everything was alright. Which of course it was! I loved this joint but my fiancé wasn't too keen on the sweetness of the nba sauce but loved the fried pickles and tater tots lol. I have a 30 year old fiancé going on 3 lol. Give this place a try on your next girls night out or date night with your man, if your ever in New Albany, Indiana.

Bbq was average at best. Wife ordered brisket it was pork. When asked the waiter said that's just how we prepare it. Tater tots frozen nothing special. Fried pickles and greens were fantastic. Beer menu top notch, as was bourbon both fairly priced. 1 beer an IPA small glass of wine, half rack ribs and brisket bill 60 dollars. If in Madison area go to to old crows ddq.

This place is PRICEY...but great! The beer selection is good and the bbq is even better. My favorite thing was the sweet potatoe fries. It's not somewhere to plan to eat for less than $15 a person, but it is good. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. I will be back to Feast soon!

The best BBQ in the area and among the top anywhere. Go off the menu and order a brisket dip. Or stay on the menu and go with the chicken (my finicky 3-year-old ate 3 percent of her body weight in chicken one dinner), pork, or really anything else. Wash it all down with a bourbon slushie. Also, the owner is hot.

I was in town a couple of weeks ago and this place was closed. I finally got my chance and it did not disappoint. Very tender brisket and tasty sauce to boot. I'm not big on fried stuff but couldn't pass on the tater tots. Small place but comfortable and good food. Interesting set up with order at the counter but service was fast.

I had the pulled pork and brisket along with mac & cheese and slaw. I also had tots that were great. The brisket was great and the pulled pork was good as well. I would recommend it highly. The only thing that was off was you had to seat yourself and you had no way of knowing.

First off, the ambience of this place is great. Exposed brick everywhere and glossed wooden tables. We had fried pickles for an appetizer. Sadly there was a lot more fried than there was pickle. It was still tasty though, especially with the great house made ranch. The brisket sandwich was fantastic. Ridiculously moist and tender, with a lot of natural flavor from the meat. The two BBQ sauces are good, with the Hot being just the right amount of kick. Got Mac & Cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. Mac & Cheese was excellent with good presentation. Baked beans also tasty, with burnt ends in the mix. The coleslaw left more to be desired though. Pretty bland and standard. Overall excellent BBQ and worth the trip over from Louisville.

Yeah this place is pretty great. A friend and I decided we would split everything because we thought we wouldn't finish it on our own. But I straight up devoured everything and left her to eat the leftover scraps. No regrets. Not to mention this place is real cool inside with the brick wall and string lights, it wasn't trying too hard...and I like that. We had the pulled pork, brisket, ribs, mac n cheese (oh my gahhh) and beans oh yeah and that bbq sauce GEEEZ it was amazing. It was so good that everything after that was a blur. Wish we had one here in California but then I'd weigh three thousand pounds.

What I liked most about our meal here was the company. There are just some people who make a mediocre meal enjoyable. The fried pickles were good. We all agreed on that. We also all agreed that the ribs were decent, albeit a little dry. The pulled pork was pretty good with the addition of a little sauce. I really enjoyed the potato salad. The greens, however, were not enjoyable. There was something off about how they were seasoned. I couldn't tell you what, exactly, about them was off. They just were. There was nothing memorable about the slaw. It was just slaw. There's a decent selection of quality bourbon and beer available, if you need a little lubrication. The space is tiny and gets crowded fast so we felt a little rushed by the death glares of the patrons who wanted our table. There seemed to be far more people than seats in there and I half expected some thrown elbows.

Feast is a pretty good little BBQ spot on the Indiana side of the river. It's not my favorite BBQ by any means. I wasn't a big fan of how the seating layout was and the bar area is pretty small for as big as a selection they have. As for the price, well as much as I spent I know I could have got more food for the same price at my other favorite joints.

Feast pulled me back from a long yelp hiatus - I just had so much (real life, ugh) stuff going on, I had been neglecting my free local dining advice. Let me start off by saying that Feast is so good, in spite of my ridiculous schedule, I feel obligated to pour out my praises for the best BBQ joint in the greater Louisville area. If I hadn't already dropped the "it is so good the only logical explanation is that Jesus miracled it out in the back" description for Zanzabar's bread pudding (it still stands, by the way), I would proclaim Feast's many BBQ dishes the product of immaculate conception. Unfortunately, I've already dropped the "Jesus miracled it" bomb, so I'm left with the prospect of going Greek mythology style conception, or coming up with a new schtick. I wouldn't be doing the fried, smoked chicken served at feast justice if I just retreaded the same catch-phrase, so let me just say this: their smoked chicken, that is then deep fried with a buttermilk batter is enough to make a grown man giggle like a three year old in the ball pit at chuck-e-cheese. I like smoked chicken. I like fried chicken. Do I like smoked, then fried chicken? At feast, the answer is ab-so-#%*Â¥=!g-lutely. The chicken is tender like smoked chicken, crispy like fried chicken, and they know how to keep it juicy and delicious. The yelp app has notified me of my word limit, so I have to cut off my ravings, but if I had more words, they would be a novella dedicated to my love for their smoked fried chicken. Believe it or not, I have strayed from my commitment to the smoked friend chicken on occasion. The simple reason is that feast is not messing around with their traditional barbecue dishes - brisket, pulled pork, and chopped chicken are IMO the best in the louisville area. Let me put it this way: there are plenty of places that do ok BBQ and good BBQ sauces to mask their mediocrity. Feast isn't that place, they have BBQ so good you don't have to touch one of their divine sauces if you don't want to. Now, running low on words, here's a brief summary of other things you must try if you go: their bourbon list - excellent and reasonably priced, they have stuff you won't see elsewhere (even at some of the heavy hitters in Louisville), also, they have a slush is machine and make bourbon themed slushies (it is like a 7-11 and a bourbon bottle had a baby); sweet potato fries (Buddha and Jesus must have tag teamed these miracles); collard greens (spicy, well cooked); and last but certainly a must get - their fried pork cakes appetizer, this is as must get as it can get, they are so good they would make a vegan rethink their life choices. You can stuff yourself and your date silly for under $50 easily.

Best BBQ in New Albany and most likely in all of Louisville Metro. One of the best bourbon selections (Bourbon and BBQ go hand in hand) and some of the most exquisitely cooked meats. Try the tater tots with the hot vinegar sauce; you won't be disappointed.

This place is great. We ate here on a Saturday night when everything else had a painfully long wait. We had our food in about 15 minutes after walking in. They were fast and friendly. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, and the food is delicious. If you go you must order the Tots as a starter. Definitely will be back here.
